Action groups to gherao Mins, bureaucrats' homes

The united forum of 28 social action groups, fighting land scam issues in the State, have decided to hold dharana in front of the Government quarters of a section of Ministers and bureaucrats on Saturday (March 21) appealing to them to vacate the same as they have possessed Government plots at a subsidised rate in the capital city of Bhubaneswar.

“Many Ministers and bureaucrats have possessed Government plots and houses in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack at a subsidised price. 

Unfortunately, they have given their leased residential houses on rent to industrial houses and private educational institutes and staying at palatial Government quarters in the capital city,” said Odisha Soochana Adhikar Abhijan convenor Pradip Pradhan.

Appealing to people to participate in the proposed agitation, Pradhan said dharana will be held in front the quarters of Ministers, Arun Sahu, Damodar Rout, Chief Secretary Gokul Chandra Pati, Additional Chief Secretaries, Upendra Nath Behera, Dr Taradatt, former Chief Secretary Bijay Patnaik and many others.
