The Odisha High Court on Thursday directed the Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) to register complaints and take appropriate action against the accused in the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) relief loot case after cyclone Phailin in October last.
The directive of the court came in response to a writ filed by the leaders of the Cuttack unit of the Congress alleging that the police stations in the city have refused to register their complaints.
The Congress leaders have alleged that some BJD corporators and workers had forcibly taken away relief materials from the CMC office on October 13, the day after Phailin hit the State.
