Body and Organ Donation Initiative (BODI) convenor Dr Pravas Acharya has been selected for the Jewel of India award for his significant contributions in organ and body donation.
Dr Acharya would be given the award at a special function to be held in Delhi on February 5. The award, instituted by the Delhi-based International Institute of Education and Management (IIEM), is given to distinguished persons for their achievements in various fields.
Dr Acharya’s initiative of organ and body donation has received overwhelming response in the State during the last two year. He made it to the India Book of Records by submitting the highest number of affidavits in a single day to the SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack.
