Police on Friday intensified investigations into the death of Paralakhemundi Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra. A police team went to his residence along with a forensic team and investigated the crime scene. The cops also questioned some Forest Department officials. Earlier on Thursday, the Paralakhemundi police registered a murder case against three persons his wife Bidya Bharti, DFO Sangram Keshari Behera and cook. Earlier on July 13, Soumya Ranjan’s father Abhiram Mahapatra had alleged his son’s death as a cold blooded murder over extramarital affair.He accused Bidya Bharati, the cook and the DFO of killing Soumya Ranjan and demanded a thorough probe into the incident by the Crime Branch.
