The recording of the statement of Netrananda Dandasena, prime accused in the death of Itishree Pradhan, a lady teacher of the Tikiri Upper Primary School in Rayagad district, ended at the District Sessions Judge Court here on Monday. On the basis of his previous statements to the court, Crime Branch lawyer Rajendra Prasad Sahu grilled Dandasena during which the latter admitted that he had enmity with Itishree and had threatened her on a mobile phone of his nephew Narendra Dandesena.
Though he said he was in touch with former Koraput BJD MP Jayaram Pangi on this issue, he claimed he had not killed the teacher. The court decided to hear the case again after admitting a petition of Netrananda’s counsel Bishnu Prasad Panda, who pleaded that his client has not committed the murder under Section 232 of the CrPC. While CBI DSP MK Pathak is presently investigating the case, sources said CBI Inspector RD Sharma left for New Delhi to submit the preliminary investigation report to the Supreme Court.
