The Vigilance police on Thursday caught Bikash Sana, Accountant-cum-Programmer, office of District Education Officer, Nabarangpur, while accepting a bribe of R s 1 lakh from person.
Sana had demanded the money from a complainant (Contractor) in order to process transport bills of MDM rice to be distributed at the school points and to facilitate release of security deposit in his favour.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches were carried out on the rented residential house of S Sana at Sadasiba Lane, Nabarangpur, office room and his house at native village Umarkote. Later, he was arrested and forwarded to court.
