Decrying police inaction in arresting culprits in connection with the brutal attack on a student of city-based Rajadhani College, activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Saturday staged a demonstration here at the Master Canteen Square demanding immediate arrest of the attackers.
ABVP State office secretary Manoj Kumar Roul said BJD goons had attacked Sujit Kumar Nayak, also an ABVP activist, as he led a team which unveiled Swami Vivekananda statue at the Rajadhani College premises with the due consent of the college Principal.
“They beat Sujit black and blue in the college campus in broad day light and with the help of college Principal he was rushed to hospital. Though the Commissioner of Police and DCP had assured us to facilitate arrest of the culprits, but nothing tangible has happened as yet,” rued Roul.
