ABVP seeks students' union polls in BU

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has urged the Brahmapur University Vice-Chancellor to hold students’ union elections in the university.

The ABVP submitted a five-point charter of demands to the VC on Monday.

“Without any valid reason, the Students’ Union elections have been cancelled. The decision deprives students of their democratic rights,” alleged the student organisation.

Alleging that the university authorities have not taken any action for filling up vacant teacher posts, the ABVP said Students’ Union election is necessary for achieving excellence in studies.

The student organisation also threatened that the authorities would face bad outcome of resentments brewing among the students.
