Abused and abandoned by the only son and daughter-in-law, a  78- year-old man of Muraripur village in Jajpur district executed a ‘will’ in respect of his all the properties in favour of the State Government to build an old age home.

“My son Suryamani, a scribe in an Odia daily and his wife, assaulted and abused me recently for which I decided not to keep any relation with them. I also mentioned in my will that the Government should not allow my son to perform last rites for me after my death. My body will be donated to any medical college for research purpose,” said Khetramohan, the abused victim.

Collector of Jajpur Ranjan Das said, “After receiving the will from Khetramohan  I advised him to take legal steps against his son and daughter-in-law as they are legally bound to maintain him.”

Accused, Suryamani, however, said, “My father with an ill motive and to besmirch my image in the society levelled false allegation against me.”
