The Baleswar police arrested an accused who was absconding after killing his uncle by driving a dumper on him over property dispute and forwarded him to court.
The accused, Ghanashyam Das (40), was apprehended from Baleswar bus stand after tracking his mobile phone, said Jaleswar SDPO Sudarshan Dash.
The deceased Sashikanta Das (62) of Dahunda village under Bhograi block, a retired school peon ,was returning to his home in a bicycle when he was hit by a dumper driven by Ghanashyam from rear resulting in his death.
The family members as well as the villagers alleging that it was a planned murder, had ransacked and torched properties and vehicles of Ghanashyam. They had demanded that the accused be immediately arrested.
