Tainted IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak has finally admitted to the fraud allegations levelled by travel agency Sky King. During interrogation by the Commissionerate police, the arrested Additional PCCF (Plan, Programme, and Afforestation) has confessed that he himself had portrayed his son Akash Pathak as MD of the Tata Motors. During the interrogation, it was also revealed that Akash was spending a luxurious lifestyle on his father’s money. Also, bookings of chartered flights, luxury accommodation at five-star hotels and air tickets were made on the IFS officer’s money through the travel agency. On Thursday, Abhay Pathak was produced before the Additional District Judge (ADJ) Court here after completion of his two-day remand. He was later sent to the Jharpada jail after bail pleas of both the father and the son were rejected by the court. Notably, the Sky King on December 2 had registered a complaint at the Kharavel Nagar police station accusing Akash of defrauding it of over Rs 65 lakh. Acting on the complaint, police had moved court seeking his remand for interrogation.
