The Rajnagar police on Thursday arrested local ABEO Subash Chandra Mohanty on the charge of attempting to rape a Class-VI girl of the Sailendra Narayan ME school during class hour while he paid a visit to the school on Wednesday.
Rajnagar PS IIC Tapan Nayak said the ABEO allegedly outraged the girl’s modesty and made an attempt to rape her. The girl's mother lodged an FIR in this regard on Thursday
Police registered a case under the POCSO Act against the ABEO and later arrested him. The ABEO would be produced before court on Friday, added Nayak.
