A tribal deaf and dumb girl of Sundargarh who was allegedly abducted and trafficked to Haryana three months ago was rescued from Gujarat. The girl was sold in Haryana several times and was repeatedly raped there.
The 27-year-old deaf and dumb tribal girl of Sareikela village under Balinga police outpost under Hemgiri police station on June 13 last had gone missing. The father of the girl had lodged a missing complaint in Balinga police outpost. Police had started searching her but could not locate her.
Recently father of the girl got information from a person from Gujarat that her deaf and dumb daughter is there. He was told that the girl was rescued from a railway station. later, the father of the girl went Gujarat and brought her daughter home.
He lodged a FIR recently that six persons of his area had abducted her and thereafter had trafficked her to Haryana. Hemgiri police after registering a case of kidnap, trafficking and gang rape, are now investigating the case. Police are now interrogating the suspected persons.
“We are trying to get the details of her suffering through an interpreter,” said Hemgiri police station IIC SP Das.
