Abacus system plays a major role in the mental and intellectual development of the children and it also develops the concentration, memory power and writing speed of the children, opined Kalinga University, Chhattisgarh VC Dr Jagannath Pattnaik.
He was speaking as the chief guest in the inauguration of the Odisha State headquarters of SIP Abacus Academy here at Niladrivihar. The ceremony presided over by the State head of the academy Sunil Nayak, president of the Niladrivihar Youth and Cultural Association and attended by social worker Dr Prakash Chandra Panigrahi and secretary Biswajit Pattnaik.
The central head of the academy T Srihari assured to open 25 centres all over Odisha apart from two at Cuttack, one each at Jajpur road, Sambalpur and Baleswar.
Zonal coordinator of the academy Subharajit Mallick threw light on the system and placed a demonstration taking the magic boy Srijan Sardar of SIP Kolkata Academy.
