Following the demand of the BJP and the Congress for re-polling in the Ghasipura Assembly seat, where election was held on April 17, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) too on Wednesday demanded re-polling in the constituency, alleging that there is enough evidence of booth rigging in the area by the ruling BJD.
AAP State convenor Nishikant Mohapatra in a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mona Sharma said, “The AAP has evidence with it in form of video clipping of rigging at a polling booth by ruling party members. In the face of proven malpractice in the recently concluded elections, we demand re-polling in the Ghasipura Assembly seat.” Besides, he demanded strong legal action against the responsible presiding officials for the blatant violations of election rules and regulations in support of a particular candidate.
