The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday launched an ambitious drive to enorl 1 lakh youths in the State within a period of one month and simultaneously urged people to “donate generously” as the party would need more funds to expedite its anti-corruption movement.

The membership drive will continue till January 15. Briefing mediapersons here, AAP State Committee convener Nishikant Mohapatra said, “People should not waste their votes either on the ruling BJD and Opposition Congress and BJP in the State as they all have failed to ensure a corruption-free Odisha.”

“After the spectacular electoral show of the party in Delhi, we are sure that people want a leadership which is determined for a corruption-free society. Hence, we appeal to honest people from all spheres and political parties, including the Congress and the BJP, to join our party in the fight against corruption,” said Mohapatra, adding that their main focus is to enrol youth mass to its fold for a sustainable Odisha.

However, without elaborating in how many Assembly seats the AAP would contest in the ensuing elections, Mohapatra said a decision to this effect would be taken soon.
