AAP terms Odisha lokayukta Bill 'toothless'

The Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday termed the Odisha lokayukta Bill, 2014, which was passed in the State Assembly on Friday, as “toothless” and said it would serve little purpose in eradicating corruption from the State.

“The Odisha lokayukta Bill, 2014 is meant to defend the State Government only. Hence, it is weak and would serve no purpose,” said party’s State executive body member Dhanadakanta Mishra. Commenting on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation, Mishra said Kejriwal was trapped in the preplanned conspiracies hatched by the Congress and the BJP at the behest of Reliance Company.

“The two national political parties do not want passing of Jan lokpal Bill in the Delhi Assembly, which forced Kejirwal to resign,” Mishra said.
