Coming down heavily on the ruling BJD and main Opposition forces Congress and BJP in the State for their alleged failure in discharging their duties properly, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national executive member Prof Anand Kumar on Tuesday said the AAP would provide a suitable political alternative in the State.
“Here in Odisha while the Rs60,000 crore mining scam as reported by the Justice MB Shah Commission has exposed the real image of BJD Government and at the same time the Opposition Congress and BJP have failed to raise the issue properly. There seems to be an undeclared consensus among BJD, Congress and BJP on anti-people policies. Hence, it is very necessary for a proper political alternative and it will be possible by AAP which enjoyed electoral success and formed Government in Delhi,” Kumar told mediapersons here.
Stating that nearly 2 lakh members have been enrolled in the Odisha chapter of the AAP so far, Kumar urged people from different walks of life and leaders of peoples’ movements to join the AAP in order to expedite the anti-corruption movement. He further stated that a suitable candidate would be fielded against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the coming Assembly elections.
Many senior citizens along with leaders of various peoples’ movements joined the party too on Tuesday. Kumar sated that the AAP, as per its earlier declaration, would try its best to contest in all the 21 lok Sabha and 147 Assembly seats in Odisha in the ensuing General Elections. AAP State convenor Nishikant Mohapatra and Dhananda Mishra were present.
