To create awareness among women against liquor, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Jajpur unit convenor Satyabrata Prusty began an indefinite fast on August 24 here at Marthapur village in the district.
But just before the fast, some goons from the BJD and Congress at the behest of their bosses attacked him brutally and broke his tent. “Fearing the rise of AAP and its support base, the intolerant Congress and BJD goons attacked us.
There were more than 30 goons involved in the incident. However, it will not deter me from holding the fast,” he said, adding that his aim was to unite villagers against the biggest curse of our society called liquor. Notably, Prusty is an IIT Delhi alumnus, who worked as a software professional in various corporate sectors for 10 yrs. Now, he has devoted his full time for social cause.
