Higher Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra and leader of Opposition in the Assembly Narasingha Mishra jointly opened an Aahar centre here on Thursday.
Minister Mishra hoped that poor people would be benefitted from Aahar centre. The centre to be managed by a local SHG would provide meals up to 500 people every at `5 per plate only. Among others, Balangir MP Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, Rajya Sabha Member AU Singh Deo, district Collector M Muthukumar and municipality chairman Santosini Behera spoke.
Municipality Executive Officer Jayant Parida proposed a vote of thanks. later speaking to reporters, Mishra said a proposal to upgrade the Rajendra College to a deemed university is under process.
