Kandhamal district Collector Yamini Sadangi on Friday said steps have been taken to link all Aadhaar cards with electoral roll in the district under the ongoing National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP) campaign of the Election Commission of India by July-end.
Addressing a Press conference, she said about 6,000 Self-Help Groups would be asked to provide help in this regard. The BlO will fill up the form for the Aadhaar card holders. “We have already covered 76 per cent of the district and would cover the rest area in the second round to be ended by July this year,” she said.
The BlOs would start moving door to door from May 5 to June 26, and the whole process would be completed by July-end, she said.
So far, 24,442 Aadhaar applications have been received for the second phase and data entry has been made for 5,800 applications.
Entries like addition, deletion and correction would be made during this process.
