Even as a Class-X girl has been missing from a village for over a year now, the Balangir police are yet to get any clue about her.
Puspa Panigrahi, a minor girl of Kendumundi village under Balangir district’s Gudvella block has been missing since March 20, 2017.
Puspa was staying with her widowed mother Janki Das and was studying in Class X. On March 20, she had gone to school to bring Government bicycle by producing her Aadhaar Card but didn’t return.
“Since then, she has not returned home. Though we have filed complaints at the Tusura police station and with the SP as well, no action has been taken yet. We believe our daughter has been sold,” said her mother.
A delegation of BJP Mahila Morcha led by president Sagarika Guru on Friday submitted a petition to the SP demanding early tracing of the girl and arrest of the accused.
“A case has been registered and investigation is on to trace out the girl and the accused,” said DSP Prasanta Pattnaik.
