Block Grant schools and colleges of Athagarh subdivision remained closed the teachers took mass casual leave to gather at dharna site in Bhubaneswar to press their genuine demands of service conditions and direct payment as per the rate of 7th Pay Commission.
The students had to return home from their respective educational institutions without teaching.
Speaking to this paper, some student leaders said that they are supporting the demands of their teachers who are at the age of retirement but have not yet received the payment as per Government norm.
