In a seemingly declining trend, Bhubaneswar on Monday recorded 962 new Covid-19 positive cases, with which the State capital city’s total tally rose to 54,576. Out of the new cases, 781 were local contacts and 181 were quarantine cases.
The local contacts included 40 cases from Khandagiri, 37 from Nayapalli, 28 from Laxmisagar, 18 each from Dumduma and Jharpada, 16 from Baramunda, 14 each from Jayadev Vihar and Kalpana Square and 11 from BJB Nagar. Currently, the active cases in the city stood at 10,353. On the day, 859 patients recovered, with which the total recoveries increased to 43,920. So far, 282 persons have succumbed to the disease in the city.
