95 cops recover from Covid, resume duties

As many as 95 personnel of police infected with Covid-19 have resumed their duties in the State following their recovery from the virus.

“They were infected, but defeated Covid-19. And now back to frontline to save others,” tweeted DGP Abhay on Monday.

Many police corona warriors have been infected with Covid-19 while discharging their duties. However, Covid-19 has not affected their spirit or determination to save people, the DGP added.

In recognition of their dedication to public service, the police authorities have decided to issue them ‘special appreciation’ from the DGP.

In a letter to all heads of police establishments, the DGP asked them to send the names of all recovered personnel, who joined duties, along with relevant details in prescribed proforma for issue of the special appreciation.

As per decision, entry would be made in the service books of the concerned police personnel about conferring of the special appreciation. The signed special appreciation would be sent to the heads of police establishments where it would be presented to the police corona warriors by an SP- or Commandant-rank officer.

Of the 95 recovered police personnel, the highest 25 are from Ganjam police followed by Brahmapur police with 23.
