94 Pak Hindus visit Puri temple

A group of 94 Hindus from Pakistani’s Sindh province visited Shree Jagannath Temple and paid obeisance to lord Jagannath, lord Balabhadra and Debi Subhadra.

Besides, they visited Maa Bimala, Maa laxmi and other temples in the temple premises.

The Pakistani pilgrims comprising children, youths and old people had been staying in the Gobardhan Peeth for the last three days. They came walking from the Gobardhan Peeth and entered the temple at the South Gate chanting Jay Jagannath repeatedly. Though their bags were checked at the gate, they couldn’t say about their Gotra, according to information.

Jagadguru Sankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati taught them about Hindu religion and asked them to uphold religious principles of nonviolence, humbleness and good behaviour even if they reside in the neighbouring country.

They said they conduct all Hindu rituals at their houses though they are living in Pakistan, a Muslim country.

“We had visited religious shrines at Haridwar and Varanasi and have now reached the holy town of Puri. We are feeling blessed to have darshan of several temples in the city,” said a devotee.
