The Odisha Teachers’ Eligibility Test (OTET)-2014, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), was held on Sunday at 199 centres across the State.
According to reports, nearly 90,000 candidates aspiring to become teachers in primary and upper primary schools appeared for the test. The OTET is a compulsory examination for all BEd qualified candidates to be considered for teacher’s jobs in schools run by the Government and private managements.
Notably, the BSE had earlier scheduled the test on July 20. However, it had to postpone the test to August 10 following rechecking of Matric examination papers after allegations by the students who had complained of poor marks.
