In a bid to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the local administration has declared an 80-hour shutdown in the Talcher municipal area from 9 pm of Thursday till April 26.
Only essential services have been exempted from the shutdown restrictions.
This was decided in a meeting presided over by the Sub-Collector in which police officials, businessmen and some prominent local people were present.
Due to the reporting of multiple positive cases, the Naba Mishra Colony area has been declared a containment zone till Monday. All movement to and from the colony has been banned. The municipal authorities would provide all necessities to the colony residents. Notably, the administration came to know that Covid-19 protocols like masking and social distancing were flouted in Talcher, where people from all over country reside and earn their livelihoods.
