80 days on, CMRF aid doesn’t reach patient

Negligence by Khordha district administration officials have come to the fore after a patient, Rajkishore Behera, of Dhala Pathara village under Bolagarh Tehsil recently alleged that he has not been given Rs 15,000 sanctioned under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for his treatment 80 days ago.

A letter of the Public Administration Department issued to the district Collector on October 8, 2018 mentioned about the money sanctioned in favour of Rajkishore. But the money was yet to reach the Bolagarh Tehsildar. Due lack of money, Rajkishore has faced problems in getting treatment.

Sources said the Emergency Officer in the Collectorate has sent the money to the Begunia Tehsil office through a letter number 13729 dated on October 30, 2018 instead of the Bolagarh tehsil.

The matter is now being discussed among people. How the EO committed such a mistake and how the Begunia tehsil office accepted the funds and remained silent, wanted to know many.

Behera, who has already approached many officers, has demanded that the Public Administration Department and the District Collector to take stringent action against the culprits involved and pay the sanctioned amount to him at the earliest.
