A trial court here on Thursday acquitted eight persons, who were accused of killing a passenger bus owner, Jaina Rout, here at the Badambadi Bus Terminus in January 2012.
The Additional District Judge (ADJ) Court of Chittaranjan Das absolved all the eight, including the key accused Kalia Sethy, of the murder charges framed against them by the city police.
The acquittal order came after the Court observed that the statements of prosecution witnesses are prevaricated and the circumstantial evidences were not admissible as they do not connect the facts with the inference.
