With the weather condition getting back to normal after a sudden thunderstorm on Saturday night, the 7th Raahgiri was held as usual here on Sunday drawing crowds in good numbers.
As the bank examination was scheduled to be held at the Khallikote University here, the event was held from 5.30 am to 8 am. People engaged themselves in various activities on the occasion.
Organised by the Ganjam district administration and supported by the Andhra Bank, the event on the stretch from the Town Hall to the Women’s College Road was attended by guests like Khallikote University Vice-Chancellor Prof Manmath Padhy, Andhra Bank DGM Nrisinha Prasad Sadangi and BDA Chairman Subash Maharana. The guests later signed on a ‘Take a Pledge’ note.
Performances on Bharat leela and Ghuda Ki Nacha on behalf of the Culture Department were the main attractions of the event. Slum kids also took part in the event. Activities like painting, songs, karate, sand art, free health checkup camp, comedy shows, Jhoti, yoga, etc., were held on the occasion.
