The Odisha Rajiv Gandhi Student Forum jointly with the Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle celebrated the 72nd birth anniversary and State-level Rajiv Gandhi Prativa Samman Utsavon Saturday. Forum State president Satyabrata Nayak chaired the meet.
As many as 75 students of Utkal University and Ravenshaw University and Plus-II students were conferred with the Rajiv Gandhi Shiksha Samman.
Freedom fighter Bhabani Charan Patnaik inaugurated the festival. Pradesh Congress Committee president Prasad Harichandan, who was present as chief guest, said, “Our State has cultural integrity. Poverty can be eradicated by developing the education system of the State,” Bhabani Charan Patnaik encouraged the students to love the State and respect the Tricolour. Paryabekhak editor Dr Pabitra Mohan Samantray, who was guest of honour, exhorted the students to fulfil their dreams.
Satyabrata Nayak said the students and the youth are the future of the country. Forum general secretary Padmakar Guru gave welcome address.
