Bhubaneswar on Monday registered 708 new Covid-19 cases, with which the State capital city’s total positives’ tally rose to 40,628. Out of the new cases, 557 were local contacts and 151 were quarantine cases.The local contacts included 36 cases from Khandagiri, 21 from Jharpada, 20 from Mancheswar, 17 from Chandrasekharpur, 11 from Baramunda, nine each from Jagamara and Bhimatangi and eight each from Badagada and Laxmisagar.
Currently, the active cases stood at 5,468. Three more persons succumbed to the disease in the city on the day, increasing the total death toll to 255. However, 350 recovered on the day, increasing the total recoveries to 34,884 in the city.
