Seven more persons have succumbed to Covid-19, with which the total death toll increased to 9,071, the Health and Family Welfare Department said on Monday.
Khordha district reported three fatalities, Puri two and Cuttack and Kendrapada one each.
Meanwhile, the State continued witnessing a downtrend in daily positive cases with 171 more persons from 25 districts and the State pool getting infected. With this, the State’s total tally rose to 12,85,038.
Among the newly-infected were 34 children in the age group of 0 to 18 years.
Out of the new cases, 98 were from quarantine and 73 local contacts.
Gajapati district reported the highest 24 new cases followed by Khordha with 23, Sambalpur 22, Jajpur 15, Sundargarh and Mayurbhanj 11, Baleswar eight, Kendrapada seven, Koraput and Ganjam five each, Boudh four, Jagatsinghpur three, Cuttack and Kandhamal two each, Bhadrak, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Nayagarh and Subarnapur one each.
Besides, five cases were reported from the State pool.
The active cases stood at 2828.
However, another 430 patients recovered on the day, increasing the total recoveries 12,73,734.
