The MBA students of the Regional College of Management (RCM) here continued an indefinite hunger strike for the sixth day on Sunday demanding issue of final degree certificates in favour of pass-out students without further delay.

At least seven students have fallen ill and were rushed to the Kalinga Hospital for treatment. Out of the seven, the condition of three students was critical.

“As usual, the RCM director has given only verbal assurance, but that is of little help since it may not be fulfilled,” said a student, adding, “We want written assurance from the authorities of the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) that they have accepted all the students since 2009 till date as registered ones.”

Another student, Suresh Behera, who was on hunger strike, said the students would continue their agitation against the college authorities till the demands were fulfilled.Notably, due to a dispute over its MBA admission, the RCM has not been able to get certificates from the BPUT since 2009 and, hence, has failed to provide them to the pass-out students.
