In a shocking and inhuman incident, a 67-year-old woman was raped and a stick was inserted in her private parts injuring her critically by a 42-year-old man in inebriated condition. The victim died on Sunday at the VIMSAR, Burla after a major surgery and treatment in ICU for over 15 days.
As per information, the deceased woman was staying alone in her home in a village under Mahulpali police station of Kuchinda sub division.
On July 21 evening, one of her relations from the same village, identified as Jagdish Badi (42), went to her house and consumed liquor there. Later, he forcefully kept physical relations twice with the old lady that the later couldn’t protest due to her old age.
Being aggrieved by such unwanted behaviour, when the old woman scolded Jagdish, the latter went berserk and inserted a stick to the private part of the women leading to profuse bleeding. However, with the help of villagers, the woman in critical condition was shifted first to nearest Kuchinda hospital and later to the VIMSAR, Burla.
“Her condition was so critical that all improved treatment inside the ICU and one major surgery became fruitless,” informed the VIMSAR authorities.
Meanwhile, the police arrested accused Jagdish after the incident.
