The Sahadevkhunta police, stepping up their crackdown on a drug racket, seized 65 grams of brown sugar and Rs 23 lakh cash from Arad Bazar area following a raid on Sunday and arrested a person in the connection. Another person involved in the drug peddling case managed to flee.
The arrestee was identified as Munna Khan. Munna is the relative of Sk Raja, another dug mafia who is in jail following his arrest by the STF.
According to police sources, Munna is a part of a drug syndicate which has operations within and outside the State. The miscreants fetched the NDPS from Murshidabad of West Bengal and further distributed through their network in the State.
