The State on Saturday reported 630 new Covid-19 cases in 29 districts and the State pool, increasing the total tally to 10,15,713. Among the new cases, 116 were detected among children in the 0 to 18 years age group.Notably, the State had added 745 infections on Friday.
Out of the 630 infections, Khordha district reported the day’s highest 221 cases followed by Cuttack with 118, Jajpur 32, Baleswar 23, Sundargarh 22, Mayurbhanj 20, Nayagada 17, Puri 16, Sambalpur 13, Dhenkanal 12, Jagatsinghpur 11 and Bhadrak 10,The districts which recorded below-10 cases were Koraput nine, Kendrapada eight, Angul five Keonjhar, Bargarh, Malkangiri and Deogarh four each, Ganjam, Gajapati and Balangir three, Kandhamal and Nabarangpur two and Nuapada, Boudh and Jharsuguda one each,
Besides, 53 cases were reported from the State pool. Eight more persons succumbed to the disease in last 24 hours, mounting the total death toll to 8,092. Two causalities were from Cuttack district and one each from Baleswar, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Malkangiri and Mayurbhanj.However, 706 patients recovered on the day, increasing the total recoveries to 10,01,254.
