The Bargaon police in Sundargarh district on Friday arrested and court-forwarded a 60-year-old man for allegedly raping a minor girl two days ago.
The arrested was identified as Karlus Sanga of Bankibahal village.
Finding an 11-year-old gild of his neibhouring family alone on Wednesday afternoon, Karlus allegedly took her to a nearby bush and raped her there.
On her return, the mother didn’t find her daughter in the house and made a search. She was shocked to see her daughter sitting and crying at the bush. Knowing about the sexual assault on her, the parents lodged an FIR at the Bargaon PS on Thursday morning.
Acting on the complaint, the police searched for Karlus Sanga and found him hiding with his wife in a forest. During interrogation, Karlus reportedly confessed to have committed the crime.
