In a suspected case of food poisoning, at least 60 students of the Utkalmani Homoeopathic Medical College here fell sick after having their meals served in their hostel on Sunday night.
The incident came to light on Monday morning as a majority of the students complained of being sick after consuming their meals at the ladies’ hostel. Out of these students, five had to be admitted to the Rourkela Government Hospital as their conditions deteriorated.
“We had our dinner at around 9:30 pm on Sunday; and at 11 pm, most of us suffered from loose motion and vomiting. Around 80 of us had taken their meals while 65 of us have been affected,” said a student.
