The Lions Gate police here arrested six persons on Monday in connection with the violence on October 3 bandh in the beach town.
The accused have been sent to judicial remand by the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM). With this, the total number of persons arrested by police reached 92 as on Monday.
The accused were identified as Mihira Mahanta of West Bengal staying in Puri Khajapati, Kalandi Charan Panda of Dandimala Sahi, Santosh Patanaik of Banapur presently staying near Puri Khaja Pati, Kaibalya Sahu of Markandaswar Sahi, Satya Narayan Guru of Manikarnika Sahi and Narayan Behera of Baseli Sahi.
On the basis of CCTV footages, the police arrested the accused on charges of arson, loot, violence and damage of public property.
