The valedictory function of the six-month training programme of geriatric care sponsored by the National Institute of Social Defence and Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in collaboration with the Centre for Action Research and Training (CART) held on the CART training premises on Friday.
The course aims at developing a cadre of frontline personnel and imparts training to them to deal with various social, economic, physical, psychological and related issues concerning the aged. Problems of the senior citizens were discussed.
Among others, member of the State Social Welfare Board, Chhattisgarh Gouranga Nayak and its former secretary Baikunthanath Mishra, former technical advisor, Union Food and Nutrition Board Sarat Kumari Acharya and social activist Dr Binodini Mishra were present at the function. Certificates and prizes were distributed to the successful trainees by the CART.
