Police have arrested six persons for allegedly selling a fake gold brick in Nabarangpur district.
While cops were in routine MV check near Maidalpur on Saturday, they detained a car and found cash worth Rs 950, a fake gold brick weighing 4 kg 500 grams, five mobile phones and five ATM cards.
The accused were identified as Sabyasachi Mohanty, Basanta Kumar Hati, Deepak Kumar Ray, Pradeep Kumar Ghadei and Danesh Sahu. Police said the accused were coming from Bhubaneswar to Nabarangpur with a motive to sell the brick to someone here claiming that it contained pure gold. Police also said that they were trying to nab other accused involved in cheating.
