The Additional District and Sessions Judge Court, Kujang on Wednesday sentenced six persons to undergo life term after convicting them in a murder case.
The court also imposed a fine Rs 20,000 on each of them failing which they would undergo another of year of rigorous imprisonment.
The convicted are identified as Ajit Das, Mantu Patra, Linkan Sukla, Tukuna Das, Dora Rout and Rajesh Rout. They had shot dead a liquor shop manager, Prasant Kumar Das, as he didn’t give money demand to them as demanded in the night of July 19, 2014.
Basing on the deceased’s brother Bikram Narayan Das, the Kujanga police had conducted investigation and arrested all six accused persons.
ADJ Pranab Kumar Routray found the accused guilty and pronounced the punishment.
