The Khandagiri Police claimed to have busted a cattle trafficking racket and seized six trucks illegally carrying 300 heads of cattle from the Begunia area in Khordha district late on Sunday night. After detaining the drivers of the vehicles for questioning, the police have sent the cattle to the Goshala (cattle shelter) at Choudwar in Cuttack. Police sources said the trucks were illegally transporting the cattle to West Bengal, from where the cattle would have been smuggled into Bangladesh to be used for beef.
