There are a total of 6,200 ases pending in different courts, including 55 i n the Supreme Court, against the Higher Education Department of Odisha, informed Higher Education Minister Dr Arun Kumar Sahoo in the State Assembly on Wedensday.
In response to a question of BJD MLA Sudhir Kumar, the Minister informed that while 55 cases are pending in the Supreme Court, 3,345 cases are subjudice in the High
Court, 1,033 cases in the State Administrative Tribunal and 1,767 cases pending at the Education Tribunal.
Besides, 2,339 contemp of court cases are pending against the Government in the High Court, the Minister informed.
Efforts are on to resolve the cases as per law, the Minister said.
