On the instructions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, 5T Secretary VK Pandian on Tuesday visited the Khordha Industrial Estate, food park, IID Khordha and Jaymangal Industrial Estate and held discussions with industrialists, employees and locals.
Pandian advised the Industry Department and the Khordha Collector to solve all problems of the industrial areas within three months. Nearly 50 small and medium industries and their workers’ unions’ functionaries of Khordha took part in the discussions,
Subjects of water and electricity supply, parking of trucks, hostel facilities for workers, traffic problems, management of waste materials and improvement in security were discussed.
A decision was taken to construct a hostel for 2,000 to 3,000 workers.
As many industries have suffered due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a special policy would be adopted for them, said Pandian.
