5T Secretary V Karthikeyan Pandian and Development Commissioner Suresh Mahapatra visited Sambalpur on Wednesday to take stock of the proposed Covid 19 hospital construction at the District Headquarters Hospital.
At present, work for a 200-bed Covid ward with a 40-bed ICU is going on war footing basis in the DHH.
During a 30 -minute stay inside the hospital, both directed the local administration to expedite the work so that it could be come to use soon.
Meanwhile, some people of Sambalpur and Mission VSSIMSAR have protested against the corona hospital in the DHH as it would create another threat to the nearby residents. The latter has also filed a PIL in the High Court, which has served notices to the Government. The next date of hearing has been fixed for May 4.
