Secretary to Chief Minister and Transformation and Initiatives (5T) Secretary VK Pandian on Tuesday made a surprise visit to the Angul District Headquarters Hospital to assess the functioning of the healthcare facilities.
Pandian, accompanied by National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) Director Shalini Pandit, DIG Nrusingha Bhol and Collector Manoj Kumar Mohanty inspected the
tuberculosis, gynaecology and obstetrician Departments in the DHH.
The team interacted with patients and inquired about the quality of treatment, the behaviour of doctors and nurses, disbursal of free medicines and food, sanitation and diagnostics facilities.
The Secretary said the team is visiting various parts of the State to check if the beneficiaries are reaping the benefits of the ‘Mo Sarkar’ programme.
Later, the team also visited the Deogarh DHH to take stock of healthcare facilities.
Pandian along with Finance Department Secretary Ashok Meena, the National Health Mission (NHM) Director and district Collector Sudhanshu Mohan Samal went around different wards of the DHH and inspected the status of the healthcare facilities in the hospital.
Later, the team visited the Deogarh Model College.
