Yet again, 58 more Maoist supporters on Saturday surrendered before the Malkangiri Superintendent of Police (SP).
The 58 Maoist supporters included 12 militia members and 30 women. They all hail from Olerguda village under Kalimela police limits. Notably, as many as 149 and 61 Maoists supporters had surrendered on Thursday and Fridayrespectively before the Malkangiri Collector, SP and Border Security Force (BSF) DIG.The 61 tribals who surrendered on Friday hail from Kalimela’s Olarguda, Gumlerguda and Integuda villages while the 149 villagers, who had surrendered on Thursday, all hail from Maoist-infested Purubai village under Kalimela police limits.
Out of the 149 surrendered Maoist supporters, 90 are women, 15 militia members and 6 village committee members. They all have been in the red ultra fold for over the last one decade. Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra said all the surrendered people would be rehabilitated under Government schemes.
